Do you Travel?
Do we ever! For elopements, travel within the state of Michigan is always included. For portrait sessions, travel is included within 60 minutes of Grand Rapids and Mackinaw City. Planning something outside the state? We always welcome destination elopements!
Are you Ordained?
Yes, Shannon is ordained through Universal Life Church, which allows us to legally perform your ceremony and sign your marriage license. This is completely option, but for couples planning a more private, intentional day, it can help keep everything simple and centered around just the two of you.
do you shoot weddings?
We specialize in intimate, outdoor elopements and adventure-style sessions. We are not currently booking traditional weddings at this time.
Can you help with locations and permits?
Absolutely! Location scouting is a huge part of what we do. Whether you want a woodsy trail, lakeshore, overlook, or something a little more hidden, we'll help you find a spot that fits your vibe and comfort level. If your location requires permits, we will help with the process.
We're awkward in front of the camera...
You're not alone! Most of our couples tell us this before their session. But don't worry, we guide you with movement-based prompts so you’re interacting naturally rather than thinking about where to put your hands and whether your smile looks stiff.
Our sessions are designed to feel relaxed, conversational, and easy — even if you’ve never had professional photos taken before.
What is your editing style?
We specialize in cinematic, natural photography with true-to-life color. Our editing style enhances depth, contrast, and natural light while preserving accurate skin tones and seasonal color. A fall session will feel warm and earthy, a snowy winter session will feel bright and crisp, and a spring or summer Great Lake sunset will carry its natural golden glow we all know and love.
Our approach is timeless, documentary-inspired, and designed to reflect how your day truly looked and felt.
What's your turn around time?
We get just excited to see your photos as you are! We typically will send sneak peeks within 24-48 hours. For portrait sessions, galleries are typically delivered within 1 week. For elopements, turnaround time is 6–8 weeks, depending on the scope of coverage.
We carefully curate and edit each gallery to reflect the experience and environment of your session. During peak seasons or for more involved adventures, delivery times may vary slightly, but we’ll always communicate timelines clearly.
Can we bring our adventure pet?
Short answer: sometimes! Whether a pet can join depends entirely on the location and its specific rules.
Many Michigan state parks, forests, and trails do allow dogs, but they are almost always required to be on a leash and under control. Some areas like designated beaches, dunes, backcountry zones, or sensitive habitats do not allow pets at all.
National Lakeshores like Pictured Rocks and Sleeping Bear Dunes have stricter regulations, and pets are only permitted in certain developed areas.
Weather Permitting?
We shoot in ALL seasons! We keep a close eye on the forecast. If conditions are unsafe or miserable, we'll reschedule. If it's just a little wind or snow? Those end up being some of the most magical moments!
What's Your booking process?
Once you inquire, we'll chat about your vision and send over a custom proposal. A signed contract and 50% deposit officially secure your date.
Do we have to hike?
Adventure doesn't have to mean extreme! We cater to all comfort levels in the outdoors and will find the perfect location that fits your style.
How far in advance do you book?
The sooner the better, especially for summer and fall dates. Elopements are limited each season to keep things intentional.
What Makes you different?
We actually live this lifestyle. We hike, backpack, snowshoe, mountain climb, ice climb, and just genuinely explore year-round. We don't just photograph adventure... we do it!
